#30: Roy Rogers
Roy Rogers, the King of the Cowboys, and wife Dale Evans raised a large blended family. They adopted Sandy, Dodie, and Debbie, and welcomed Scottish-born Mimi, who couldn’t be legally adopted but was family in every way. The couple remained lifelong adoption advocates.

Tragedy struck twice. Debbie, a Korean War orphan, died at 12 in a church bus accident, and Sandy died at 18 while serving in the Army in Germany. Dodie, who is of Native American descent, married and became a grandmother, as did Mimi.
