The Biggest Career Comebacks from TV Actresses, Ranked

After her Saturday Night Live days, Jane Curtin teamed up with Susan Saint James for Kate & Allie (1984–1989), about two divorced moms sharing a New York apartment. The show was a hit, and Jane won back-to-back Emmys for Lead Actress in a Comedy.

In 1996, she landed on 3rd Rock from the Sun as Dr. Mary Albright, the professor who dates John Lithgow’s clueless alien, Dick Solomon. The show ran six seasons and introduced her to a new generation. She never really disappeared, though, which keeps her at #14.
