#45: Rainier Defended the Dress He Had Helped Her Choose
Rainier defended Grace’s decision to wear white to Princess Anne’s wedding. He explained that she had shown him the outfit beforehand and he had agreed it looked suitable. It was comfortable, warm enough for the occasion, and worked well with the white mink she planned to wear.

He also said people at Buckingham Palace had complimented her appearance. To Rainier, the criticism assigned an intention that had never been there. His response showed a husband standing beside his wife during an awkward public moment. Their next major wedding concern would involve someone much closer to home.
