#33: The Loss of John Entwistle
In June 2002, just one day before a new tour was set to begin, John Entwistle passed away in his hotel room. It was sudden, and it shook everyone who knew him. John had always been the quiet one, the anchor in a band full of storms.

His bass lines were steady and robust, holding everything together even when the rest of the music sounded like it might spin out of control. Losing him didn’t just change the band—it left a gap in their foundation. They chose to continue the tour, believing it was what he would have wanted.
