#25: Rising Tensions Between Roger and Pete
The tension between Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend was no secret. They were opposites in a lot of ways—Daltrey more physical and direct, Townshend more restless and reflective. They clashed often, and sometimes those clashes turned physical. Once, in the studio, Daltrey punched Pete so hard he knocked him out cold.

But the thing is, they needed each other. The push and pull between them gave the music its spark. Their fights weren’t about ego—they were about passion. And somehow, through all of it, they kept coming back together, because what they made as a band was bigger than either of them alone.
